How to Reflect on the Year

There’s something so satisfying about a fresh start. With the start of a new year rolling around, we thought now would be the perfect time to go over how to reflect on your year, review your accomplishments, set new goals, and celebrate how far you’ve come in 2021.

Recognize your accomplishments and give yourself a pat on the back for things you did well. Reflect on the lessons you learned, as well as the knowledge and skills you acquired, while also recognizing your mistakes and missteps in order to use them as a self improvement tool. Taking the time to reflect at the end of the year helps you to analyze what you should carry over into 2022, and what you should leave behind in 2021.

Start with a list!

Make a list of everything you accomplished within your business. Did you travel to any new destinations to work from this year? Attract a record number of new clients? Take a course or add to your team? Write it all down! These are all markers of your hard work and proof that you can achieve anything you set your mind to when it comes to your business.

Next, take a moment to think about where you see yourself in 5 years. What can or should you start doing this coming year in order to get you one step closer to your 5 year goal? The point of doing this is to figure out what your goals for the new year are. Is it to expand your agency or business? Or maybe you’re looking at finally hiring someone like an OBM or VA to help manage and lighten your workload. Whatever it is, try to find that sweet spot between working towards achieving your long term goals and remaining present!
